The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Central Tongu, Hon. Addison Dodzi Mornyuie, has outlined his development priorities and assured residents of transparent leadership during a live one on one public engagement on Swiss 93.7 fm in Ho on Wednesday, October 1, 2025.
Hon. Mornyuie highlighted infrastructure, health, roads, job creation, and agricultural support as the key areas he aims to see improved before the end of his term. He emphasized that the assembly is committed to delivering results that directly impact the lives of people in the district.
On health, the DCE noted that plans are underway to expand and resource health facilities, particularly in underserved communities, to ensure quality healthcare delivery. He added that improving road networks remains a top priority since good roads will ease transportation, boost trade, and connect farmers to markets.
On accountability, Hon. Mornyuie stressed that all district resources are being managed with transparency. “We have put in place strict monitoring mechanisms to ensure value for money, especially on infrastructure and social programs,” he said.
Responding to concerns about youth unemployment, the DCE revealed that the assembly is partnering with private sector actors and skill training institutions to create opportunities for young people.
Agriculture, which is the backbone of the district, also featured prominently in his remarks. The DCE explained that farmers are receiving targeted support to deal with rising costs, climate change pressures, and limited market access. “We are engaging both government and private partners to ensure farmers get inputs on time and find ready markets for their produce,” he added.
On community involvement, Hon. Mornyuie underscored the need for participatory governance. He explained that the assembly holds stakeholder consultations to ensure that development projects reflect the real needs of the people rather than being imposed from above.
The DCE reaffirmed his commitment to building a stronger, more inclusive Central Tongu and called on residents to support the assembly with unity and cooperation.
